A year later Mystikal was rewarded with two Grammy nominations for Best Male Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Album. The rapper subsequently release his sixth album “Tarantula” in 2002, which spawned the popular hit single “Bouncin’ Back (Bumpin’ Me Against The Wall)”.
Unlike the raw, unpolished approach taken by Mystikal on his previous albums, “Let’s Get Ready” attempts to hone in on his aggressive funk with more accessible soul sensibilities. The hits “Danger (Been So Long)” and the Neptune-produced hit “Shake Ya Ass” aided the album’s popularity and led to Mystikal’s first No. Now signed to Jive Records, the rapper wasted no time in releasing “Let’s Get Ready” in 2000.
The album cemented Mystikal as a respected and well-recognised Dirty South rapper in the same league as Juvenile and Ludacris. “Ghetto Fabulous”, like its predecessor was produced by the Beats by the Pound production team, and debuted at No. The album granted Mystikal a wealth of exposure, surpassing that of the No Limit roster, and produced his last album on the label in 1998. The album earned positive reviews from the musical press, went platinum, and marked the first appearance of Snoop Dogg as a “No Limit Soldier”. Three on the Billboard 200 and topping the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart upon its release in November 1997. His debut release on the new label, entitled “Unpredictable”, became a surprise hit peaking at No. The rapper subsequently signed with Master P’s No Limit Records in 1996 in a co-agreement with Jive Records. “Precise” Edwards, the album showcased Mystikal’s intense lyrical speed, and raw approach to rap delivery. The album was in large part a retaliation to Cash Money Records’ rappers U.N.L.V., Lil Wayne and B.G., whom he had developed a feud with. With major-label backing the rapper built on the success of his debut by issuing the full-length “Mind of Mystikal” in October 1996. Making an early name for himself with the release of his eponymously-titled debut in 1995, Mystikal subsequently inked a deal with Jive Records.
